Super Speedy Star Baby - Audio Described
Presented by Louisa Ashton
In Association with Little Angel Theatre

Join Star Baby on a bizarre and bonkers musical journey through space!

Featuring new music by Manchester’s ‘whimsical electronica’ DJ Haxton.

Star Baby is a newborn baby star sent hurtling uncontrollably across space, becoming a beautiful bright comet along the way. At first, Star Baby is scared to be alone in this strange vast place, full of colour and wonder. But soon, the little comet is befriended by a family of aliens in a Space-Boot, a Melancholy Moon who has spun away from their home planet, a large noisy Space Snail who loves to dance and a tiny planet called Mr Bear who has just been told he’s ‘Too Small To Be Called a Planet’. These new friends speed through space, past strange colourful wonders, until finally, they come to stop in a space of their own. A new home, where they can dance their strange and wild dance together. And so, the party begins!

Combining puppetry and stop-motion animation, Super Speedy Star Baby is a story about feeling lost or left out. However, it’s also a joyful journey into finding somewhere to belong, embracing the things that make us different and a celebration of how families can come in all shapes and sizes!

This film will be released at 12pm on Sunday 10th April, and will be available for 18 months.

Priya and the Twirling Wind
Presented by Raven Kaliana, Puppet (R)Evolution, Ram Devineni, Rattapallax
In Association with Little Angel Theatre

Ram Devineni, creator of Priya - India’s first female superhero (and named “gender equality champion” by UN Women) teams with Raven Kaliana, an award-winning UK-based puppetry director to create Priya and the Twirling Wind. Moonlit Mudlark
Presented by Shadow Boxer
In Association with Little Angel Theatre

Laura lives on a tiny boat on the biggest dock in London with her Dad and their ancient dog "Fish". Tonight it's the lowest Spring Tide on record, which for Laura only means one thing - Mudlarking! She has her torch on and bucket ready, the only problem is her Dad won't let her go. In a fit of rage, Laura hurls her most prized possession, a ring her mother left her, into the dock. Before she knows what she's done she's dived in after it and finds herself in a magical underwater world.

Here she meets incredible beings: half-human fish, boats that turn out to be walruses and, strangest among them, The Wreck. The Wreck is a twisted river spirit who rules the underwater world, collecting all the lost and forgotten objects discarded in the water. She tells Laura she cannot have her ring back for "What is dropped in error will always be returned, but what is thrown in freely, surely must be mine". Laura must find a way to outsmart The Wreck, retrieve the ring and get home to her Dad, all before she becomes one of The Wreck's treasures herself, trapped forever in her watery realm.

Stone Soup, presented by Bronia Evers and One Moment in Time Storytelling, in association with Little Angel Theatre. Donate to Little Angel Theatre: https://bit.ly/3kyDgpD.

A new retelling of the classic European folktale. Elisabeth remembers back to a time long, long ago, when three travellers arrived in her village, claiming they could make soup from a stone…

This short film features puppetry, storytelling, original music, and a specially designed ‘crankie theatre’ with scrolling paper scenery.

The first recorded publication of Stone Soup appeared 300 years ago, yet this enduring folktale has never felt more relevant, with its themes of community, resilience, generosity and cooperative spirit.

The film will premiere at 11am on Sunday 11 April 2021 and will be available for one year.

If you were inspired by the community spirit in the story, why not make a decorative nature soup using things from your garden or local park? You can use our activity guide to help you: https://littleangeltheatre.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Nature-soup-activity.pdf

In stories, as in life, it pays to be able to think on your feet - especially if you are about to be eaten by a hungry bear! This is just one of the perils that face the clever children in these seven tales, which also feature a Devil-dog, Old Greyface the wolf, Giant Gobbleguts and Dump-demons.

Based on the story written by Michael Rosen
Performed by Nix Wood
Directed by Samantha Lane
Designed by Ellie Mills
Produced by Joe Rosen
Composed by Andy Hopkins
Filmed by Matthew Dove

Little Angel Theatre present 'Scoop's Space: Mr Gobble's Garden', a new story written by Jon Barton. Donate to Little Angel Theatre: http://bit.ly/2Wilwox

Scoop the Junk lady and Bertie the Bottle welcome you back into their special space, where they make things out of the stuff other people throw away, and use them to tell stories. This time, they’ll tell you the story of Mr Gobble’s Garden.

He looks like a slipper with a mop for some hair.
For when he’s not gardening, he rests in his chair.
But, more than anything in the world, and of this I am certain
Mr Gobble is extremely proud of his garden.

Mr Gobble is the grumpiest man you’ll ever meet in your life, but his pride and joy is his garden. He tends to his herbs, fruit and sunflowers, and is growing an enormous Orchid to enter into a competition. But one day, a mischievous mole comes digging, and Mr Gobble has to learn an important lesson about kindness, sharing and friendship.

This production was filmed in a socially distanced way at Little Angel Studios.

There's A Bear On My Chair | Free Performance for Children

“I want to see the world!"

A curious little fish wants to explore the big, wide world outside of his fish bowl in a house in Cross Street. One brave leap from the window takes the little fish down into the gutter, along the Thames and beyond. As the little fish will learn, a big adventure is often what it takes to make us appreciate the familiarity of home.

This show has been created by Lyndie Wright, Sarah Wright and Mike Shepherd in association with Little Angel Theatre. It will be available indefinitely.

Don't Worry, Little Crab I Free Performance for Children

Little Angel Theatre present 'Scoop's Space', a puppetry performance created following social distancing guidelines, to be filmed and watched online. Donate to Little Angel Theatre: http://bit.ly/2Wilwox

Visit Scoop, the junk lady, and step into her secret space – a place where she gathers and stores all of the interesting things that other people throw away, and uses them to tell to tell stories.

The set and puppets in this show are made entirely out of recycled materials. During our closure period, we’ve been releasing daily resources showing families how they can use recycled materials such as egg boxes, cardboard, newspaper and even coffee capsules to make their own puppets at home. We hope that this performance will highlight the magic that can be found in every day objects and further inspire children to get creative with the ‘junk’ that we can all find around our homes.

This show is inspired by our 2018 production, 'Junk', which saw our studios space transformed into a recycling plant. It reunites the original creative team and puppets from 'Junk'.
